Head of Bappenas: Multisector Collaboration is Important in Building Resilience and Cyber Security

Digital transformation in the future is expected to have a positive impact on Indonesia and the world, this can be reflected in a number of research results from world institutions which reveal that artificial intelligence will contribute USD 15.7 trillion to the global economy in 2030, the Internet of Things is predicted to have an impact. on productivity with an economic impact in Indonesia of USD 121 billion in 2025.

5G is estimated to be able to drive the growth of Global Output in 2035 amounting to USD 12.3 trillion. Increased investment in the value chain with the presence of 5G is estimated to have an additional growth of USD 3.5 trillion and create 22 million jobs in 2035, Digitalization will have an impact on increasing Indonesia’s GDP USD 150 billion in 2025, Indonesia’s Internet Economy will reach USD 27 billion in 2018, and it is estimated that it will grow to USD 100 billion in 2025.

However, this progress will be accompanied by predictions of cyber warfare and cyber threats according to current developments, including: cyber war threats, namely hacking of defense equipment control systems, hacking commands, control, communication, computer, cyber, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance. or abbreviated as C5ISR, Hacking Network Centric Warfare (NCW), the threat of cyber crime is Phishing, Data manipulation, Hacking, Grooming or child pornography, the threat of cyber radicalization, namely black campaigning and propaganda, the last is the threat of cyber terrorism, namely Recruitment, Financing.

When delivering his presentation, the Minister emphasized multi-sector collaboration and synergy in building cyber security and resilience.

“The government’s task of organizing cyber security and maintaining cyber sovereignty includes IPOLEKSOSBUD HANKAM, meanwhile, the task of academics is to develop a Center of Excelence, conduct continuous research, build a cybersecurity laboratory and train cyber experts, “said the Minister.

Minister Suharso went on to say, The task of business people is to provide protection for system services and data / information, including customer personal data, as well as realizing cyber technology independence. the task of the community is to participate in maintaining a healthy and safe cyber space and fostering the behavior of the Indonesian nation and a cybersecurity culture.

“Whether we like it or not, whether we are ready or not, Indonesia must prepare itself to build defense capabilities in space and cyber, which is a necessity,” he said.
